Itinerary

1

Day 1: Arrival  in Tirana Airport – Durres

After your arrival at Tirana International Airport you will be meeting with your guide and transfer to Durres. Free time on their own leisure for relaxing time near the shore of Adriatic sea, coffee break, and shopping. Overnight in the coastal town of Durres.

Day 2: Durres – Ardenice – Apolloni – Vlore – Llogara

This morning after breakfast you will start with sightseeing of Durres. Visit of the Venetian tower, byzantine walls, city center, ruins of the Roman forum and Roman baths. Entrance at the Roman Amphitheatre of Durres and after the visit transfer in direction of Kolonja. Entrance to “Ardenica Monastery” and transfer to Apollonia for lunchtime and visit of Apollonia Archaeological Park. Visit of the Theatre, Library, Odeon and the monastery inside. Final transfer to Vlora and stroll in Vlora city center, Flag square, etc. Free time on their own leisure for dinner and transfer to Llogara National Park for overnight.

Day 3: Llogara – Porto Palermo – Butrint – Saranda – Gjirokaster

Breakfast at hotel and transfer in direction of Porto Palermo with many stops on the route for photo shooting. Visit of the Castle of Ali Pasha in Porto Palermo and transfer from Porto Palermo to Butrint with a stop in Borsh for lunchtime. After arrival in Butrint. Visit of the biggest and most important archaeological park in Albania, part of UNESCO world heritage. Transfer back to Saranda and visit of the city center and the ruins of synagogue etc. Free time for dinner and transfer to Gjirokaster for overnight.

Day 4: Gjirokaster all day

This morning after breakfast you will visit the Castle “Argjiro” of Gjirokastra, traditional old houses and old quarters, old bazaar with craftsmen shops. You will also visit the Ethnographic Museum of Gjirokastra (Ex-dictator Enver Hoxha birth house) and have some leisure time on your own for shopping at the old bazaar. Free time for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Gjirokaster – Berat

This morning after breakfast you will transfer to the ancient city of Berat for a visit of “The city of a thousand windows”
The trip in the city of one thousand and one windows starts in the old quarter which will send you back in time to the Middle Ages from the cobbled streets and the houses built in a special architecture and fanatically well preserved till the modern days. The fortress, located on the hilltop, is the most special attraction there, offering an amazing panoramic view of everything surrounding Berat. And there you understand the reason why it was such an important stronghold. Another specialty of Berat is the Onufri Iconographic Museum, named after one of the greatest Albanian painters. There are best preserved Albanian icons from the XVIth century that were used in the many churches in the town. Visit of the King Mosque and free time on your own leisure, until when you will have free time for dinner and overnight at hotel.

Day 6: Berat – Elbasan

This morning after breakfast you will be transferred in direction of Tirana with a short stop on the route to Elbasan. After the stop for services and short sightseeing, we will be reaching the capital Tirana. Stroll along Tirana’s main “Deshmoret e Kombit” Boulevard which connects Mother Theresa Square with Skanderbeg. Continuing north along the boulevard, you will reach the National Art Gallery, which houses a permanent collection of works. Dinner and overnight in Tirana.

Day 7: Elbasan -Tirana – Onward

Today, your private driver/guide will meet you in the hotel lobby to transfer you in the capital Tirana. Stroll along Tirana’s main “Deshmoret e Kombit” Boulevard which connects Mother Theresa Square with Skanderbeg. Continuing north along the boulevard, you will reach the National Art Gallery, which houses a permanent collection of works. The airport for your onward flight after spending some free time, depending on the time of the flight. The cost of the flight is not included in your program. The flight details are to be adviced.
